大家面前的优等生，性格冷酷的神秘系高中生神山树（本乡奏多 饰）内心却是一个不折不扣的GOTH。GOTH，意指对人性中的黑暗面感兴趣，愈禁忌愈想要探寻。可这样的性格只深埋于内心中，无人知晓。直到树邂逅了同班女生森野夜（高梨临 饰）——这个一眼就看破树内心的GOTH女。二人可谓一拍即合，两颗向往黑暗的心越来越靠向彼此。某天，因为在咖啡店捡到了一本记载了众多离奇杀人事件的笔记本，树和夜开始了探寻真相的旅程。他们甚至不惜冒着危险前往现场，而被揭晓的真相除了事件还有森野的过去…… 改编自著名小说家乙一的同名作品，《断章事件》是其中的一个短篇。
